Families love bedtime again

Real stories from real parents who turned bedtime battles into bedtime magic.

As a mom of two little girls, bedtime is already my favorite part of the day, but this app has made it even more magical. My daughters light up every single time they hear their own names and realize they're the main characters. What I love most is being able to build the story around whatever we're going through. Tough day with sharing or listening? That becomes the lesson. And because the story is about them, the conversations that follow feel so natural. You can tell this was made with real love. It's become a non-negotiable part of our routine and my girls ask for it every night. Truly one of the best things we've added to our evenings.

My grandchildren live in Florida; I live in a small town in northern Italy. For years the distance felt impossible. Then I discovered Lunary, and I made a story about two children who find, hidden beneath an old fig tree, a tin can full of handwritten firefighter stories. My son called me the next evening: the children had already listened to it three times. Now every week they ask, 'Did Nonno send a new story?' They ask for stories. From me. A grandfather they see only a few times a year. Lunary didn't just give me a tool — it gave me a way to put my world into theirs, and to build a bond with my grandchildren across the distance that I never could have had otherwise.

Last spring I walked the Camino de Santiago — long days of walking, villages I had never seen, sacred mornings. Back home, my daughter Silvia called me from California: 'The children want to know what you saw.' I am not always able to take grown-up stories and turn them into stories for children. But Lunary helped me. I made a story about a nonna who walks a long road with a little backpack and a yellow arrow to follow, and I shared it with my daughter. Silvia told me her children now draw yellow arrows and say they are 'doing the walk like nonna.' They live in California, I live in Torino. And somehow my grandchildren are walking the Camino with me, one story at a time.

My daughter had terrible nighttime anxiety. Seeing herself as the brave hero in her own story — with our dog and her best friend — changed everything. She asks for bed now.

Why we built Lunary

A real problem, two tired parents, and a product that didn't exist yet.

Luca, Jessica and the kids
🌙

It started the way most parenting problems do — at 8:30 on a Tuesday night, with two exhausted adults and two kids who absolutely were not sleeping.

Jessica and I had tried everything. The same books read so many times we could recite them. Screen time we felt guilty about. And then the improvised stories — the ones where we'd stumble through some made-up adventure, hoping our daughter would just please close her eyes — and our little one would finally stop bouncing off the walls.

But something funny happened on the nights we got it right — when the story was about them. Those nights were different. They'd pull the blankets up themselves. Asleep before we reached "the end."

We couldn't find an app that did that. So we built Lunary.

Lunary is for every parent who's stood in a dark hallway, brain-dead tired, trying to conjure a story from thin air. It's the bedtime ritual we didn't know our family needed.
